B Corp: using business as a force for good

What it means to be B Corp certified

B for benefit

B Corps meet very high standards in inclusive and sustainable performance, transparency, and accountability. We all make a legal commitment by changing our governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders. Creating benefit for all through our products, practices, and profits.

Aiming for the top

The B Corp certification is known to be a tough process. Companies must meet high verified standards for social and environmental performance. Performance is measured across five areas: governance, workers, customers, communities, and environment. It takes a holistic view on sustainability, that goes far beyond reducing carbon emission. Since B Corps are required to re-certify, they are focused on getting better every day.

A global movement

The B Corp movement works from the power of collective action. There are 6,000+ Certified B Corps in 150+ industries in 80+ countries. We all understand that we need to work together to change a system. All B Corps sign the Declaration of Interdependence that shows this commitment. To be the change we seek in the world..

We use the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

Guiding others on their journey

We practice what we preach and learned a lot from our journey to become a certified B Corp. We’re pleased to be an official B Corp Way partner. Qualified to help other companies in their systemic change. What impact does your company want to make? Where are you now? And where do you want to be? Often, it takes just one morning or afternoon with your team to answer that all-important question: to B or not to B?

B Corp Declaration
of Interdependence

We envision a global economy that uses business as a force for good.

This economy comprises a new type of corporation — the B Corporation — which is purpose-driven and creates benefit for all stakeholders, not just shareholders.

As B Corporations and leaders of this emerging economy, we believe:

  • That we must be the change we seek in the world.
  • That all business ought to be conducted as if people and place mattered.
  • That, through their products, practices, and profits, businesses should aspire to do no harm and benefit all.
  • To do so requires that we act with the understanding that we are each dependent upon another and thus responsible for each other and future generations.

Certified B Corporations around the world
