The client was at a crossroads. Sustainability is embedded into their corporate strategy and they have been working on reducing their environmental footprint, but at the same time, they are facing increased pressure and scrutiny from the government, civil society and its own employees.
Dare to become frontrunner in the industry
They had a choice to make: maintain the status quo with its current business model and contribute only marginally to sustainability, or dare to become a frontrunner in the industry, truly commit to sustainability and change its business model to make more impact?
In choosing the path of change, the idea was to set up an “Innovation Hub”. The client needed support in creating a unique concept to be able to present it to the Executive Committee.
How did we help to set-up an innovation hub
We designed in co-creation with the client a unique innovation concept and pitch deck that received support from the Executive Committee to further develop:
1. Internal analysis – to determine internal perspectives, already existing plans and lessons learned, capabilities and requirements,
2. Market analysis – to get inspired by best practices and lessons learned from existing Innovation Hubs and Impact Business Models within and outside of the industry, to determine unique opportunity spaces for the client and set design criteria,
3. Design sprint & visual concept – create the unique design based on internal & market learnings, incl. strategic fit & positioning; business, financial and impact model, and organizational structure and way of working.
"Been supported us hands-on with their structured design (& innovative) approach and in co-creation with our team."
